When you complete this course you will have the skills and the knowledge to obtain entry level employment as a Medical Billing Clerk. This course will include medical terminology that will enable you to comprehend and interpret medical procedures and diagnoses referenced in the ICD9 and CPT code books. Basic billing concepts along with specific information relating to electronic medical claims and records (E.M.R.) are taught using Medent software, the most widely used program in the Western New York medical community. An optional internship is available. Prerequisite: A High School diploma or GED and you must pass a typing test.
To register for this class you must first attend a Full Time Program
orientation and testing session at Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development Center.
