The 8th annual Erie 1 BOCES fashion show, FUSION, featured the hand-designed and produced apparel of high school students from across WNY who are involved in Erie 1 BOCES’ Fashion Design and Merchandising
Eleven students from nine school districts showcased their designs on Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall at Buffalo State College.
Instructor Darlene Meek acquaints students with the basics of fashion and design with classes such as fashion history and color theory, while also giving students practical skills as they learn how to draft patterns and produce garments. Their education also includes merchandising through classes on promotion and distribution. Many students find their future career paths through the program.
This event also served as a drop-off site for the annual Prom Dress Drive
organized by Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon.
