The Western New York School Support Center serves as a resource to those schools and districts targeted for improvement by the New York State Education Department.  It is committed to the individual needs of these school communities, providing assistance that is:  

• learning-standards focused,
• supportive and collaborative in nature, and
• service oriented.   

Organized as a learning community, the Center hopes to serve as a model to school communities who wish to establish themselves as communities of learning.   

The spirit of the organization serves to encourage, excite, and challenge all to uncover possibilities and solutions.  This spirit is carried into the schools by Support Center staff, who are committed, knowledgeable, and experienced.  Center staff engage in collaborative inquiry with the schools, honoring and respecting the current work of the schools as it informs the work of the future, and assisting them to become adept at results-driven change.
