The Community Youth Development and Support Services division includes three centers: the Center for Student Support Services, the Center for Positive Youth Development, and the Center for School and Community Partnerships.
Services are funded through CoSers and a variety of grants. Grant services are determined by specific funding sources. Services are provided to schools, community and government agencies, faith-based communities and students.
Grant programs include School-Based Tobacco Control; Reality Check, an Erie County Youth Tobacco Advocacy initiative; HELP, an HIV peer education program; Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS); and Assets Coming Together (ACT for Youth), a community youth development initiative.
It also includes the State Education Department -funded Student Support Services Network Center, providing assistance to improve services and programs that impact student performance to high need districts in Western New York. Targeted areas include school attendance, school completion, school safety (SAVE Legislation), creating supportive learning environments and climate, student support services, after-school programming, youth development, adult/youth partnership and community resource linkages.
