Occupational Therapy Sessions
Erie 1 BOCES provides occupational therapy (OT) to students enrolled in BOCES programs and district programs.
Individual sessions are provided at 30 minutes each. Frequency per week is determined by the CSE.
Group sessions are provided at 30 minutes each within small groups of two to five individuals. Frequency per week is determined by the CSE.
Occupational Therapy Consultation
Student specific consultation provides the expertise of an occupational therapist to assist the classroom teacher or other service provider in identifying/analyzing student needs and designing activities to be implemented in the student’s educational program. No direct service to students is provided by the occupational therapist. Contact with the teacher by the consulting occupational therapist will be scheduled as specified in the I.E.P.
Classroom consultation provides an alternative to the student-specific service for district-enrolled students only and provides classroom teachers with resources, strategies, activities and suggestions which can be incorporated into all aspects of their curriculum.
