This year’s students have accomplished amazing feats, but only eight Erie 1 BOCES students were recognized for standing above the rest. These students were given an award by a member of the BOCES Board of Education in recent ceremonies celebrating the achievements of the outstanding students.
Kenton Career & Technical Center honored Olivia Lewis as the recipient of the Career and Technical Education Student of the Year Award. As a Kenmore West senior in the Culinary Skills program, Olivia is a natural leader who was the president of the Kenton SkillsUSA organization, served on an advisory committee, and raised money for numerous charities. According to Kenton Principal Jeffrey Sikora, Olivia “gets along with everyone in every setting. [She] isn’t afraid of taking a chance, even if it may not be popular with the crowd.” Olivia will be attending Johnson and Wales in Rhode Island for culinary and business education.
