Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development Department is recognized by New York State as a high quality Adult Education Institute. Traditionally, certificates have been awarded for successful completion of a full time Job Skills Training Program and for individual Workforce Development classes. Now, there is a third option that might be just what you need to help you with your lifelong learning goals, if full time training is not an option.
A Certificate of Sequential Studies will be issued upon successful completion of required and elective Erie 1 BOCES courses that have been packaged into specific discipline. After completing all of the classes in a particular study area, you may apply for a Certificate of Sequential Studies. You will need to present the certificates of completion for the individual classes that you have completed. The required coursework must be completed within a five-year period. A more detailed description of individual classes may be found in the specific course section.
