Closing Announcement Procedures

The official announcement of closing Erie 1 BOCES facilities will be broadcast on WBEN-AM 930, WKSE-FM 98.5, WTSS 102.5 (STAR 102.5) FM, WIVB TV Channel 4, WKBW TV Channel 7 and WGRZ TV Channel 2.

A separate announcement will be made for each of the following locations if they are closed:

Erie 1 BOCES:

Education Campus

Harkness Career & Technical Center

Kenton Career & Technical Center

Potter Career & Technical Center

Walden Workforce Development Site

Unless you specifically hear your program or building announced as closed, you should report to work.

The following programs close automatically when the school district in which they are located closes:

Northtowns Academy                 Will close when Sweet Home Schools are closed.

Southtowns Academy                 Will close when Frontier Schools are closed.

Erie County Detention Center      Will close when Buffalo Schools are closed.

All Special Education classes located in component districts will close when the host district closes.

McKinley School                         Will close when Lackawanna Schools are closed.
