Q. Where do I find my Applicant ID number? A. Your Applicant ID can be located on the General Information page of your online application. To get there, log into your online application, click accept and the word application. After your application has loaded, use the pull-down menu at the top of the screen to select General Information. The third line from the top of the page has your Applicant ID.
Q. How do I attach my Confidential Placement Folder to the online application? How much does it cost? A. Visit your college career center with your Applicant ID. Each college listed below has been given software to send your Confidential Placement Folder to the online application. Your information is encrypted as scanned and loaded directly to your application. College costs for this service may vary, see your career center for more information.
Q. How will I know my placement folder has been attached to my application? A. The General Information page of your online application has a section “Confidential Placement Folder Received”. This section will include a “Yes” if the file has been loaded. A blank/empty space after the statement means no information has been attached.
Q. How often should I attach my Confidential Placement Folder to the online application? A. Your Confidential Placement Folder only needs to be attached once to your online application. If new documents are added to your confidential folder then you may wish to have it resent.
Q. What colleges are currently sending the Confidential Placement Folder? A. Alfred University, Brockport, Buffalo State, Canisius, Daemen, D’Youville, Fredonia, Geneseo, Houghton, Ithaca, Interfolio, Lemoyne, Medaille, Mercyhurst, Niagara University, St. Bonaventure, the University at Buffalo, University at Cortland, University at Oswego, Utica College, Nazareth College of Rochester, Roberts Wesleyan, and St. John Fisher.
Q. What if my college is not on the list? A. Please send an email to WNYSAS@E1B.ORG requesting that your college be included in the system. Should a school district request your Confidential Placement Folder have your college send a paper copy.
Q. Can I see my Confidential Placement Folder? A. Applicants cannot see their Confidential Placement Folder. The General Information page of the online application will inform applicants that their Confidential Placement Folder has been attached.
Q. When will my application expire? A. Your online application will expire in 180 days if no changes or updates are made within your application. Those applications that expire can be reactivated by logging into the system and following the simple directions.
Q. Can I attach documents to my online application? A. Resume, cover letter, unofficial transcripts, letters of recommendation, copies of certification, and other documents can be scanned and enter into the “attachments” section of your online application. For best results, scan documents at 72-75 DPI, choose an appropriate format (PDF, TIF, TIFF, DOC, JPG), and make sure that the documents do not exceed 1 MB. NOTE: read all postings carefully, school districts may require specific documents be attached to your online application.
Q. How can I make sure that all school districts in the system can see my application? A. The District page of your online application lets you decide what school districts can see your application. Make sure to check each box next to the school district and click Save and Next. School districts can view your application through job postings and anonymous searches. It’s best to continuously update your online application.
Q. How can I create a Certified (Teaching/Administrative) or Classified (Civil Service) Application? A. To create either the Certified (Teaching/Administrative) or Classified (Civil Service) Application please visit our website http://www.wnyric.org/application * Begin the application process by clicking "Applicant Login" at the top of the page. * Next, under the login boxes, click the button "Create New Account". * The "Add Applicant" page is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - make sure to select the correct APPLICANT TYPE (Certified or Classified) when filling out this page. Selecting the wrong applicant type will require additional data entry. * After completing this page you will begin filling out the Certified or Classified on-line application.
