FUSION Fashion Show Postponed Until Further Notice
The Erie 1 BOCES Fashion Design Technology program’s upcoming fashion show – FUSION: Figment of Imagination – has been postponed until further notice due to health concerns associated with the coronavirus.
The fashion show was set to take place Thursday, March 19 at Buffalo State College, with the work of nearly 35 high school fashion students from across Western New York being showcased. However, the health of both the students and the attendees is a top priority for Erie 1 BOCES, which is why the event has been postponed to avoid potential spread of COVID-19 (novel coronavirus). Local and federal health officials have recommended social distancing as a useful tactic to prevent infections.
Seniors who were working on their personally designed and sewn collections at the fashion show include: Alexis Labin (Grand Island), Anthony Rick (Clarence), Ava Grande (Clarence), Benny Dean (Amherst), Cole Eberle (Kenmore East), Helen Anz (Williamsville North), Julianna Robinson (Frontier), Kristin O’Neil (Sweet Home), Lily LoTempio (Clarence), Martiana Woods (Cheektowaga), Natalie Pitillo (Hamburg), Ngan “Amy” Duong (Cheektowaga), Omar Owens (Lancaster), Rachel Chapuis (Orchard Park), Thalia Annarino (Cheektowaga), Zaniya Vaugh (Sweet Home) and Mia Mansour (Amherst). More information on each of these students can be found in their corresponding press releases for their schools at the end of this article. PLEASE NOTE that the individual press releases were written BEFORE the event was postponed.
Erie 1 BOCES’ two-year Fashion Design Technology program at the Harkness Career & Technical Center teaches students how to create, style and trend forecast based on design elements and the fashion cycle. Participants also create a successful business plan for a fashion business, setting them up for future success.
