Cleveland Hill Senior Plans For Future in Fashion
Cleveland Hill Central School District senior Nooralhuda Alhasan is standing out for her skills and leadership in the Fashion Design Technology program at the Harkness Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center.
Program instructor Darlene Borchert described Nooralhuda, who goes by Noor, as not only dedicated but also consistently willing to lend a hand to her classmates.
“She arrives each day ready to learn and support others whenever needed,” Borchert noted.
Last year, Noor showcased her creativity by designing a stunning ensemble that was featured in the Genesee Community College fashion show. She also had the unique
experience of modeling an outfit created by a fellow senior, highlighting her collaborative spirit. Noor said her love for fashion is deeply rooted in her desire to express her personality and cultural heritage.
Noor was praised for her positive attitude, strong work ethic and her willingness to take on leadership roles. Among those leadership opportunities for Noor included the role of assistant coordinator for a major fashion event during her junior year. In this capacity, Noor worked closely with her peers to ensure the event ran smoothly, allowing them to focus on their collections. Borchert said Noor’s maturity and problem-solving abilities have made her a role model within the Fashion Design Technology program.
Despite her success in her fashion studies, Noor’s aspirations for after high school extend beyond the fashion industry. Noor said she plans to attend Daemen College to pursue a career as a physician assistant in pediatrics or as a surgical technician, but added she also dreams of one day launching her own fashion business.
