Mrs. Wilkosz Celebrating 30 Years of Service
Patricia Wilkosz, senior training coordinator at Erie 1 BOCES, has reached a significant milestone in her career. At a virtual ceremony, Wilkosz was recently celebrated for her 30 years of service with a service award.
Wilkosz began her career with Erie 1 BOCES as a temporary clerk typist at the Harkness and Potter centers in 1988 before becoming permanent, part-time. From clerk typist she became a senior clerk typist confidential, principal clerk typist, principal personnel clerk, and training coordinator before taking on her current management role as senior training coordinator.
“It was my mom who encouraged me to take the civil service exam. She passed away shortly after I started in my permanent position at BOCES, but I always knew I wanted to work my way up from support staff to management. I cannot thank my co-workers enough. Over the years, they have become my mentors, passing on invaluable information to me. I have always focused on my personal growth, to increase my knowledge, experience and hard work to better the organization,” Wilkosz said.
Patricia and her husband, John, have been married for 44 years and live in Lancaster. They have three children and four grandchildren.
