Erie 1 BOCES Partners with PCB Piezotronics to Launch Engineering and Manufacturing Program
We are excited to announce the creation of the New Visions Engineering and Manufacturing program, a dynamic collaboration between E1B and PCB Piezotronics, a leader in sensor technology. This innovative program offers students the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of engineering and manufacturing through both classroom instruction and hands-on experiential learning across various departments of the company.
Students will develop critical skills in engineering design, technical problem-solving, and project management, while also building a professional network through field experiences with industry leaders.
Tyler Bouthsabong, a Depew High School graduate, is a perfect example of the program’s impact. Tyler enrolled in the New Visions Engineering and Manufacturing program through Erie 2 BOCES during the 2022-2023 school year and quickly found his passion. While many of his peers pursued engineering careers, Tyler discovered his interest in machining. After completing the program, he was hired at PCB Piezotronics, where he has now been working for over a year.
Reflecting on his experience, Tyler shares that his experience was valuable, “I felt like this was a really great place to get my foot in the door.” He emphasizes that the program is not just for future engineers, saying, “Even if you don’t want to be an engineer, you can do the New Visions program and work here after.”
New Visions program enrollment is open for the 2025 - 2026 school year.
