Criminal Justice Student Enjoys Exploring Her Interests
Alexis Dunn is a senior from Tonawanda High School and is enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Erie 1 BOCES Kenton Career and Technical Center.
“I enrolled in BOCES because I’ve always been interested in crime and law,” Alexis said.
In the fall of 2021, following graduation, Alexis plans on going to college and possibly law school.
Under the instruction of John Manth, Alexis has learned about courts and corrections, criminal minds, criminal investigations and forensics, and more.
“Lexi has a 99 average and is an outstanding student. She’s extremely mature and a pleasure to have in class,” said Manth.
“This program has provided me an advantage to reach my goals by pushing me to try my hardest and giving me a feel for what college will be like,” Alexis said.
As part of public education, Erie 1 BOCES offers a variety of career and technical programs during the regular school day to high school students in Erie County. High school students interested in learning more about how they can participate in various programs such as sports science careers, web technologies and game programming, health careers or aviation technology, should visit www.e1b.org/cte or speak with their high school counselor.
