January is National Braille Literacy Month, celebrating Louis Braille, who invented the code in 1824 as a way for blind and visually impaired people to read information. Student-Built 'Little Libraries' Debut

Little Library 1Introducing Erie 1 BOCES Little Libraries!
P-TECH students at the Potter Career and Technical Center built two Little Libraries for E1B students and the community. The libraries have been installed outside of Northtowns Academy and Winchester Academy.
The libraries are a way to promote reading at home as well as provide books to our neighbors. Anyone can borrow a book and return it to the library when they’re done.

Award-winning Gingerbread Creation

Gingerbread Winner 2022Kenton Career & Technical Center students took home first place in the high school division of the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute’s annual Gingerbread Competition. The team, comprised of three seniors, created a Hallmark-inspired holiday castle.

Historic Artifact from Central Terminal Helps Teen Secure Career Path

Luggage Cart Post West Seneca (December 9, 2022) – With more than 10,000 passengers passing through Buffalo’s historic Central Terminal each day in the mid-1900s, carts carrying loads of luggage peppered the landscape.  One school’s community outreach project turned one of these historic luggage carts into a modern-day learning opportunity for one Hamburg teen.
