Auto Teacher Going to Inaugural Video Game Event
Erie 1 BOCES Career & Technical Education instructor Charles Shevlin, Jr. will be heading to a national video game tournament in early November. He was invited to attend as part of an all-expenses-paid trip.
Shevlin will be at LANFest Gaming’s first-ever national competition at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Nov. 1-3. He will be playing a variety of games there, including “7 Days to Die,” “Golf with Your Friends” and “Farming Simulator 19.”
Shevlin teaches Automotive Technology at Erie 1 BOCES Potter Career & Technical Center in West Seneca. He currently has a streaming presence at MassiveLAN, Western New York’s largest online gaming event that supports charity.
LANFest is a non-profit organization that raises funds for local and national charities. Gaming events are put on by local chapters across the United States.
