Certified Production Technician
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
  • Gain understanding of the skills needed to obtain employment as an entry level Certified Production Technician. The program focuses on four major areas of instruction: Safety, Manufacturing Processes and Production, Quality Practices and Measurement and Maintenance Awareness.  Students will earn the National Work Readiness Credential, National Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Credential and OSHA 10 for General Industry.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
  • A TABE score of 9.0 in reading and 7.0 in math is required*.
  • A personal interview will be conducted.
  • A valid high school diploma or equivalency is required.
EMPLOYMENT OUTLOOK
Previous employers include Multisorb Technologies, Tapecon, Sealing Devices, Manitoba, and General Mills.  Entry level Certified Production Technicians can expect to earn an average of $14.00/hour.  A Placement Specialist is on staff to assist you with resume writing and interview skills.
 
To register for this class you must first attend a Full Time Orientation and Testing Session at Erie 1 BOCES Workforce Development Center.

  • The cost of the program is $2,625.  Financial assistance may be available through ACCES-VR, BETC/ECC One Stop, CFA Funding, NETC, the US Department of Veterans Affairs, or other sources.
