They will also have a unique opportunity to provide feedback and help inform future directions for scholarship in the field by voicing their thoughts on promising practices and the most compelling challenges they face.

Day 1: This introductory day begins with look at the therapeutic crisis intervention for schools systems that support high levels of implementation. We then move into how our climate interacts with the needs of our students, and how to rethink behavior in terms of needs or missing skills. Day 2: During Day 2 of TCIS training, we consider and practice the levels of support a student may need as they move up the stress model of crisis, which foundational to implementing the TCIS process. Day 3: During Day 3 of TCIS training, we will dive more deeply into supporting students as they reach intense levels of emotional strain. We will consider ways in which we can lessen that stress and provide support that can help to de-escalate a potentially violent situation, or recover from one which may have occurred. Day 4: During Day 4 of TCIS training, we will practice utilizing the physical components of TCIS safely, and effectively. We will reflect on when and why to use each intervention, and what to do if an intervention should need to occur in order to restore and maintain healthy relationships and community culture. At a recent PD about the Science Investigations, some primary teachers had a fantastic idea to build sensory bins that support preparation for the Science Investigations. If you are attending, Renee will email you a list of materials to collect and some to gather from your school STEAM Lab. Please start to collect the following items (do not purchase anything, just extras that may be around the house or school STEAM Lab) - Copy paper boxes with lids, different size (clean) plastic bottles with lids, beads, funnels, clothes pins, tweezers, bird seed, pasta shapes, pom poms, buttons, beakers, graduated cylinders, pan balances with weights, stop watches, other cool items we could possibly use. Please bring your lunch and computer. Additionally, 3rd Grade teachers will also continue their work on 3 dimensional CFAs, aligned to the investigations and CBT sample question clusters.
