Google Projects with Sites/Earth | July 12, 2021 | Brian Blaszak | Looking for something new and refreshing to focus on with Google? This workshop will focus on two programs within the Google Suite to use with students for something a little different with technology projects. Google Earth has revamped its software and now students can create projects within the program. We will explore the new features and discuss possibilities for lesson creation and projects. Google Sites is a website creator. We will dive into Sites, mainly using it for student projects and portfolios, and how Google Classroom can help with that process. | Online |
Podcasting from A-Z Workshop Series | July 13 and 14, 2021 | Dave Mileham | This virtual workshop will show educators the power of content delivery through the use of Podcasting. On day one, we will investigate websites that will allow educators to record and edit their content for distribution. Day two will consist of learning how to distribute your content through Google Sites and Google Classroom. Each day will be 2.5 hours of virtual instruction. | Online |

How to Use Google Tools to Increase Collaboration in a Classroom | July 15, 2021 | Dan Wodarczak | In the 21st century classroom technology is an invaluable tool that can create a greater level of engagement and collaboration. Collaboration is a necessary component in the classroom. By using technology the teacher can allow students to collaborate and work together on the same artifact. The teacher also will have the ability to view the amount of work being done by each student. In this session we will be looking at some of the tools offered through Google and pedagogy that can allow for students to collaborate with each other in the classroom. The teacher will be able to interact with students both digitally and in person to increase understanding. |

Using Comics in the Classroom | August 5, 2021 | Dan Wodarczak | Comics are an excellent way to allow students to demonstrate their knowledge of content material. They can serve as a representation of knowledge and they are easier to visualize when students are asked to recall and apply the content learned in class. Comics will allow for students to develop creative and higher level thought processes that will allow for both visual and verbal communication. In this session we will learn some of the benefits to creating comics in the classroom and will also learn some of the tools available that can allow us to create these in our classrooms. We will look at how comic creation can be a student driven activity that will translate into other skills needed in the classroom. |

The Many Uses of Book Creator! It's Not Just for Creating Books! | August 9, 2021 | Dan Wodarczak | Yes! Book Creator is a great way to create books. The teacher can create content for their class with all of content information. However, Book Creator is not the same as simply creating a book with words and pictures. Book creator also allows for links, videos, files, and much more. Book Creator can serve as an excellent way to have student driven curriculum. The teacher is able to allow students to create and can even send out work that the students will complete. You can set up journals which will show the work that students have done throughout the year. Come to this workshop to learn how to use Book Creator as a tool and find some of the many ways that you can use it is much more than just a way to create books. |

App Development Using Google Slides | August 16 and 18, 2021 | Dan Lynch | In this two day workshop, teachers will learn how to use Google Slides to develop an app that can be used on any phone or tablet. These apps are great tools to use to organize classroom materials, share information with parents, or organize forms and calendars for a sports team or club. Teachers enrolled in the workshop should come prepared with materials and ideas for an app they would like to develop. | Online |
TGT- A system for creating collaboration through competition | August 16, 2021 | Dan Wodarczak | TGT (Teams, Games, Tournaments) is a model which is going to allow for students to work in heterogeneous groups to learn their material. Those heterogeneous groups will work as teams which allows for students to work cooperatively and learn from each other. Tournaments focus on homogeneous groups that will compete with each other. This is an excellent practice for any courses that focus on problem solving (especially mathematics). Come to this session to learn how you can incorporate TGT into your classroom and have some fun as we create competitions with each other! |
