ADA Accessibility Compliance Overview
The Department of Justice has updated its regulations for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure that public web content and mobile applications (apps) are accessible to people with disabilities. Title II regulations apply to all state and local governments, which include public schools, community colleges, public universities, and any contractors that provide public services on their behalf.
Web accessibility deadlines:
April 26, 2027: State and local governments with populations of 50,000 or more
April 26, 2028: State and local governments with populations of 49,999 or less
