Potter P-TECH Senior Wins WNY Auto Collision Competition

Potter P-TECH student Sam Caruana showed off his skills at the WNY Auto Collision Competition last month, taking home first place in the overall competition.

The event held on December 13, 2025, brought 13 students together from five different schools across the state to compete in three different events— estimate writing, refinishing & blending, and plastic repair.

Caruana, a senior at West Seneca East, had strong showings in all three areas, taking second place in each event. His well-rounded effort earned him enough points to earn the top overall prize.

Fellow West Seneca East senior Matthew Murray also had a stellar day at the competition, taking third place overall.

Students received prizes as well as scholarships to Ohio Technical College for their efforts. This was the ninth year that the competition was held.

Congratulations to both students as well as their instructor, Mr. Peffer, on their achievements!
