Family Fun at Northtowns Academy
Families, students, staff, and community partners came together for a memorable Family Night at Northtowns Academy. The event celebrated creativity and connection while providing families with an opportunity to engage with teachers, classmates, and valuable local resources in a fun and welcoming environment.
“Family Night is an opportunity to celebrate our students while strengthening the partnerships between home, school, and community,” said Patrick Canfield, director of exceptional education. “Seeing our families, staff, and community partners come together in such a fun and supportive environment is truly special.”
Throughout the evening, students and their families participated in a variety of fun activities from karaoke performances, kickball, and reading with Daisy (the lovable black lab), to sensory stations, face painting, and various craft activities. A special thank you to the Northtowns Academy teachers and staff for leading the activities, and who enjoyed spending meaningful time with families outside of the classroom setting, building relationships that continue to support student success.
In addition to the activities, Family Night also served as an important opportunity for families to connect with community organizations and support services. Representatives from local agencies, including Sensational Fun, the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, and Erie 1 BOCES CTE and Workforce Development, were on hand to share information and resources available to students and families. The event helped strengthen partnerships between home, school, and community while reinforcing Northtowns Academy’s commitment to supporting the whole child.
