Students at EDGE Academy bring Roald Dahl Stories to Life on Stage

Students at EDGE Academy recently showcased their creativity, talent, and hard work through a theatrical production featuring two of Roald Dahl’s most suspenseful stories, The Landlady and Lamb to the Slaughter.

The performances transformed Dahl’s classic tales from page to stage, giving students the opportunity to explore acting, storytelling, stagecraft, and collaboration. Through weeks of rehearsals, students worked together to develop characters, memorize lines, and create an engaging experience for staff and peers in attendance.

The Landlady follows a young traveler who checks into a seemingly charming bed-and-breakfast, only to discover that things may not be as welcoming as they appear. Lamb to the Slaughter tells the story of Mary Maloney, whose ordinary evening takes an unexpected turn, leading to a darkly humorous mystery. Both productions challenged students to convey suspense, emotion, and dramatic tension while bringing memorable characters to life.

"This performance is a powerful example of what happens when students are given the opportunity to express themselves creatively," said said Jaquelyn Boss, principal of EDGE Academy. "Through theater, our students built confidence, collaborated with their peers, and brought their unique talents to the stage. We couldn't be prouder of what they accomplished.”
