Centers For Disease Control and Prevention  
Information on a variety of diagnoses can be accessed through an A to Z index or "search". The ASD Homepage provides informational links for families, individuals, health care professionals, educators, medical and policy makers. It also offers information on facts, screening/diagnosis, treatment, data/statistics, research, articles, free materials and popular links.

National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities
Provides factual information on various disabilities. Includes information on screening/diagnosing, treatment options, data and statistics and current research.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)
Provides mental health information for a variety of diagnoses. The site provides "quick links" information on various disorders, signs and symptoms, treatments, clinical trials and more.

New York State Education Department 
This website provides information regarding the NYS Department of Education for parents, teachers, administrators, licensed professionals and the public. Information regarding disabilities and education can be accessed through "search".

New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities
Information on topics important to individuals and families, like eligibility, finding the right supports and services and staying healthy.

United States Department of Health and Human Services
Provides general information regarding signs and symptoms, screening and diagnosis, treatments, causes, risk factors, research and clinical trials. Also includes links to publications and organizations.

The American Occupational Therapy Association 
The national organization for occupational therapy. This website contains valuable information for consumers and therapists.

Developmental Disabilities Alliance of Western New York 
Development Disabilities Alliance of Western New York has a guide to services as well as a Recreation and Leisure Services Directory.

National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) 
NBCOT represents occupational therapy practitioners by providing testing and certifications for occupational therapists.

Find Your Niche Recreation Program
Town of Hamburg Recreation Program for children with Autism, PDD or Asperger's Syndrome. You do not need to be a resident to participate. For more information, call (716) 646-5145.

Monthly Sensory Friendly Films at AMC
Offers families affected with a developmental disability an opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment. The local theater offering these films is AMC Maple Ridge 8, 4276 Maple Road, Amherst, NY 14226.
