Erie 1 BOCES was proud to participate in the 4th Annual Girls in the Trades Day on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, giving more than 30 of our Career and Technical Education (CTE) students a glimpse into their potential future as part of Women in Construction Week.

The entire school community at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School, an elementary school in the Cheektowaga Sloan Union Free School District, recently came together for an exciting, schoolwide Winter Olympics event that celebrated teamwork, inclusion, and school spirit.

On Wednesday, March 4, the University at Buffalo (UB) Graduate School of Education honored Michael Capuana, Ed.D., with the Educational Administration Equity and Excellence Alumni Award during the Willower Lecture and Educational Administration Alumni Awards Ceremony. Capuana, district superintendent and chief operating officer of Erie 1 BOCES, was recognized for his sustained commitment to advancing inclusive leadership practices and strengthening educational opportunities for all students.

Nearly 100 Erie 1 BOCES CTE students competed at the SkillsUSA Area 1 Regional Competition on Tuesday, March 3rd, at Alfred State College, and several returned with medals thanks to their excellent performances!
