Hello my name is Amanda Dermott and I am the Manager of Labor Relations. I oversee a team that provides guidance, support, and professional development to our component districts on a variety of labor/employment and student relations matters. Our team also conducts long-term student suspension hearings. In addition, I am an Associate School Attorney providing legal advice and support to our organization. I will have been with E1b for 6 years this November. I started in Policy Services prior to moving to Labor Relations. Before coming to E1b, I gained experience as an attorney both in private practice and with the federal government.
I was born in Plattsburgh, NY and lived in Northern NY until my early 20s. My husband and I came to Buffalo for me to attend law school, and we decided to stay! I've been married to my wonderful husband for 16 years. We have two beautiful daughters, ages 10 and 7, and this summer we adopted a 3 year old mini dachshund.
Hello my name is Simone Klubek. I am a Career and Technical Education administrator at Erie 1 Boces, and I serve as a principal of the newest CTE center in the Calspan Business Park. I have been at BOCES for 2 years. My favorite part of my job is seeing students totally immersed in learning that is based around their interests. I also think it’s really amazing that I get to come to work everyday and learn from my teachers who are experts in their field.
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. I grew up in North Buffalo, but now reside in Hamburg, NY with my husband and two wonderful children who are under the age of 5 years old. We have 2 big dogs and lots of chickens. I enjoy outside activities such as gardening, camping, hiking and skiing. I also enjoy cooking and traveling with my husband.
I think my closest friends and family would describe me as determined and optimistic . I’m a “run through walls” kind of person to get something accomplished.
Hello my name is Kailin Kucewicz. I serve as the Program Coordinator for the Community Schools CoSer at Erie 1 BOCES. In this role I coordinate networking opportunities for component districts that are CoSer Members, inform component districts about the programs that Erie 1 BOCES supports within the CoSer, and connect component districts with community partners that can enhance family and community engagement. I have been at BOCES for 6 months. The best thing about my job is connecting with the community.
I am a cat mom to a 5-month-old Bengal kitten named Lasertron. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring artistic practices as a member of the first cohort in Buffalo Institute of Contemporary Art (BICA) School. A fun fact that many may not know about me is that I am training to join the local Queen City Roller Derby league!
