Can I Just Register to Take the Test?
Erie 1 BOCES will register its students for the GED exam. Students wishing not to take classes with Erie 1 BOCES may contact the following agencies for test registration details:
  • Buffalo Public Schools (716) 888-7088
  • Kenmore Town of Tonawanda Schools (716) 874-8400
How Long Will It Take Before I Can Take the Test?
This is the question everyone wants to know. How long will I have to be in classes until I can take the GED exam? The answer is not simple and it is different for everyone. For some people it takes a couple months and for others, it can take a couple years. Regular attendance and class participation will help you move through the program at a faster pace. Your teacher will be able to give you a better answer when you come in for orientation and take a basic math and reading test.
