Hello my name is Brett Shufelt. I work with the West Regional Partnership Center as our Culturally Responsive Educator. My role focuses on making sure that the districts with which we work are achieving equitable outcomes for all students and are implementing culturally responsive practices. While I'm still relatively new to the position,1 month in, I'm thrilled to work with such a great team and to make a difference for our region's students.
I grew up in the southern Adirondacks, but have lived with my family in the Rochester area for the last 10 years. Accepting this new position at Erie 1 BOCES has provided me with the perfect opportunity to relocate to the Buffalo area and be closer to family.
I'm married to my wonderful wife Caitlin, and we have a 5 year old daughter, Emerson, and a baby on the way this September. My friends and family would most likely describe me as an enthusiastic extrovert! Outside of work and family, I'm a musician, record collector, and huge sports fan (Go Bills!). I love meeting new people, so feel free to stop down and say “hi”!
