Potter students house project highlighted
The work of students to build a house at Erie 1 BOCES Potter Career & Technical Center was highlighted by WGRZ-TV, as they prepare to sell the home at auction.
The 1,379 square-foot ranch was built by students in the building trades program, with support from students in the electrical systems and heating, ventilation and air conditioning programs.
“This is a great project for the students to experience a real job site and put their learning into practice,” said David Grieco, building trades instructor at the center. “They are able to see a finished project that a family will live in.”
The house features three bedrooms; two bathrooms; three-inch spray foam insulation in all exterior walls; flooring in all bedrooms and bathrooms; first floor laundry; covered front porch and a full set of stamped architectural prints. The master bath includes a jetted tub, 4' stand-up shower, double vanity sink. All auction proceeds will enable the program to purchase building materials needed for future class projects at the Potter Career & Technical Center.
The online auction is open now and will end June 7 at 7 p.m., more details are available at https://www.cashauction.com/auctions/detail/bw100639.
