Erie 1 BOCES, in partnership with the WNYRIC, recently hosted its 2nd Annual Sunrise Seminar under the theme of "Creating Safe and Welcoming Schools." This event was thoughtfully tailored for school district leadership teams, aiming to provide them with a comprehensive exploration of different facets of education, with a particular emphasis on fostering secure and inclusive learning environments.
The seminar began with an enlightening keynote address by David Bissonette, an esteemed emergency management specialist, delving into the critical subject of emergency management in educational settings. Following this keynote, attendees had the opportunity to engage with a dynamic crisis communication panel, featuring prominent local media personalities, further enriching the seminar's discourse.
A series of breakout sessions provided an opportunity for a deeper dive into specific subjects. Participants gained a more comprehensive understanding of particular topics such as artificial intelligence in education, the power of family support centers, best practices in capital projects and more.
