Basil Family Dealerships Gifts Vehicle To Potter Auto Tech Program
On December 22nd, the Friday before winter recess, representatives from Basil Family Dealerships pulled up to the Potter Career and Technical Education Center with a big gift.
The dealership donated a white 2004 Chevy Trailblazer to the Potter Auto Technician Training program.
“We are very excited to make this donation. Joe Basil Chevrolet is committed to helping our community and our local automotive educational programs,” said Basil’s Fixed Operations Director, Craig Colby.
Instructor Charles Shevlin said this vehicle will give students the opportunity to work on a full frame SUV.
“We are grateful for our partnership with Joe Basil. It’s good to have industry partners that understand the needs of our students and to work with us to make sure they have the resources they need to succeed in the automotive field,” said Shevlin.
As Shevlin accepted the keys from Colby, they both smiled for a photo and Colby said “this is only the beginning”, alluding to a continued partnership with the dealership.
“It’s really wonderful for our kids to be able to work on something new. The key piece is to keep them engaged and working with new vehicles,” said Career and Technical Education Director Scott Bindemann. “So it feels great and this is just the start of our partnership with Basil Family Dealerships.”
