Hello, my name is Scott Bindemann.
I work in the Instructional Services Division at Erie 1 BOCES, as the Director of Career and Technical Education. In this capacity, I am responsible for managing the Career and Technical Education department at Erie 1 BOCES, including our 2-year courses, our New Visions and Tech Prep classes, and our PTECH programs. I have worked at Erie 1 BOCES for approximately a year and a half. The best thing about my job is the people that I get to work with each day, and the people that I get to meet from industry and in the community. I have the privilege of being surrounded by so many talented professionals!
I heard about the position through my professional network. I applied for the Associate Director of Instructional Services because it involved so many of my career interests: Career and Technical Education, Special Education, and Industry/Educational Partnerships. When the Director of CTE position became available, I applied to focus on my passion for Career and Technical Education.
I was born and raised in the Town of Tonawanda. Much of my lifetime has been spent in WNY. However, I spent several years in New Jersey and the New York Metro area after graduating from college.
I am married to my wife, Lisa, and we have three children ranging from 10 to 15. My favorite hobby outside of work aside from spending time with my family is golf. I am also an avid sports fan especially when it comes to the Bills and Sabres! I think those close to me would describe me as honest, kind, a good friend, and hard working.
