In this session, we will look at features and integration strategies for OneNote Class Notebook, which can be used as an online journal, binder, notebook, and so much more. 7/1/23 - 7/31/23 Mary Kovach Google Tools for the Writing Process Technology tools have the ability to support and enhance the student writing, revision, and publishing experiences. Mary Kovach Vocabulary-Building Strategies in Google Workspace for Education We have known for many years that explicit vocabulary-building strategies work hand-in-hand with building student background knowledge in a variety of content areas. In this course, we will look at a number of strategies for building student vocabulary, with a focus on tools within Google Workspace for Education. 3
7/10/23 - 8/18/23 Darlynda Miktuk ChatGPT: What Is It and What Does It Mean for Education? Have you heard of ChatGPT? ChatGPT is a language processing tool driven by AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology that allows one to have conversations and much more with the chatbot. This online only course will explore what ChatGPT is and what it means for education. This is an introductory course and requires no prior knowledge of ChatGPT. 3
7/10/23 - 8/18/23 Darlynda Miktuk Creating a Welcoming and Affirming Environment for All Students Before the next school year (2023-2024) starts, this online only course will assist participants with creating a classroom environment where all students find themselves represented and reflected, and where they understand that all should be treated with respect and dignity. The NYSED Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Framework will be used as a guideline with this principle of a welcoming and affirming environment for all students. 3
7/10/23 - 8/18/23 Darlynda Miktuk Book Study: The Innocent Classroom by Alexs Pate *NOTE - This online course is a repeated course and was run during the '22-'23 school year. This online only book study worth 7 PD hours will explore the book The Innocent Classroom: Dismantling Racial Bias to Support Students of Color by Alexs Pate. Participants are responsible for purchasing the book for this book study.  7 
7/10/23 - 8/18/23 Darlynda Miktuk Book Study: Leading and Managing A Differentiated Classroom This online only book study will explore the book Leading and Managing A Differentiated Classroom (2nd edition) by Carol Ann Tomlinson and Marcia B. Imbeau. Updated with new research and insights, the second edition of this foundational guide to the how to of differentiation provides the thoughtful strategies teachers need to create and maintain classrooms where each student is recognized and respected and every student thrives. 7/10/23 - 8/18/23 Darlynda Miktuk Instructional Strategy - 10 Powerful Instructional Strategies *NOTE - This online course is a repeated course and was run during the '22-'23 school year. This online course will cover some powerful instructional strategies such as graphic organizers, summarization, higher-order thinking questions, etc. Participants will be able to pick and choose which instructional strategies they want to focus on. 3
7/18/23 - 8/18/23 Elizabeth Kraemer The Culturally-Responsive Math Classroom This online course is worth 6 PD hours and the objectives of this course are to:
  • Deepen our understanding of equity-based mathematics teaching practices and the NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Framework to create a student-centered mathematics learning environment
  • Utilize the Culturally Responsive Math Guide and Rubric to evaluate and modify a math lesson and/or unit plans to increase culturally responsive principles in our math instruction

7/20/2023 Mary Kovach SEL Webinar Series: Supporting Student Relationship Skills and Social Awareness Through Technology This webinar will explore what it means for students to develop relationship skills and social awareness within the CASEL Framework for SEL, and discuss technology tools that can support student social awareness and relationship skills. 2

Mary Kovach We Are All Makers and Coders In this course, we will look at how students can move beyond simply being digital consumers … into becoming digital makers! Through the tools of Microsoft MakeCode, students can tap into their creativity as well as their analytical and problem-solving skills. MakeCode allows students to create coding projects for a number of devices and purposes, including Minecraft, 8-bit "Arcade” games, and micro:bit controllers. While MakeCode's login structure is designed for Microsoft 365 accounts, many aspects of MakeCode allow for students to work on projects via upload/download, without the need to sign in. 3
8/4/2023 - 8/31/2023 Mary Kovach Google Certified Educator Level 2 If you liked the Google Level 1 Academy, you'll love getting ready to become a Google Certified Educator Level 2! This certification is intended for educators who have been actively using Google in their classroom and would like to prepare themselves for employing G Suite apps in more depth. This one-day training will dive deeper into various areas of Google and will provide you with the next level of expertise to successfully complete the Google Certified Educator Level 2 Exam. 9

Learn about some of the new and/or advanced features of Nearpod, including Interactive Videos, Drag & Drop, Whiteboard, Math Manipulatives and the new Slides experience. 3
