Competitive Online Games for Student Engagement and Assessment
Description |
This online course will include two pre-recorded webinars on "quiz game" tools for teachers:
Gimkit: Gimkit is a game show for the classroom that requires knowledge, collaboration, and strategy to win. Students answer questions on their own device at their own pace. Students earn in-game "cash"by answering questions correctly. But be careful, an incorrect answer will cost you!
Quizizz: The Quizziz student response system allows teachers to easily create online quizzes, or copy and modify quizzes created by other teachers. Teachers can choose whether the assessments will be student-paced or teacher-paced. Quizzes also offers enhancements such as memes, avatars, and music to motivate students.
After viewing the webinar recordings, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about specific features via discussion areas. Then, participants will create a sample lesson for either Gimkit or Quizizz.
